This seaside suburb located on the Northern Beaches area of Sydney is a popular tourist destination offering attractions and activities that cater for a wide variety of interests.

Nestled between the Tasman sea on one side and Manly Cove on the other, Manly was so-named in 1788 by Captain Arthur Phillip of the Royal Navy who was so impressed by the “confidence and manly behaviour” of the local Guringai aboriginal people that he named the place "Manly Cove”

The idyllic location and lifestyle of Manly is well captured in the slogan “Seven miles from Sydney and a thousand miles from care” used by the Port Jackson & Manly Steamship Company in 1940 to describe “Australia’s Premier Seaside Resort”
